Marking the successful conclusion of Phase I, the Climate Change Center (CCC) at KAUST organized a two-day Final Forum that brought together over 150 scientists, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to highlight key scientific achievements and advance regional collaboration in climate research and applications across the Arabian Peninsula. The forum underscored CCC’s growing role in advancing climate science in alignment with national priorities, including Saudi Vision 2030.

The first day focused on scientific foundations and methodological innovation. Presentations highlighted advancements in regional climate modeling and projections, subseasonal-to-seasonal forecasting systems, and high-resolution hydroclimate simulations tailored to arid environments. Discussions emphasized the integration of AI, digital tools, and next-generation modeling frameworks to transform climate data into usable knowledge products for risk assessment and decision-making. Panels explored how global scientific developments can be translated into region-specific insights, strengthening research capacity and informing policy-relevant climate services.

The second day centered on climate applications and sectoral resilience. Sessions addressed climate risk reduction strategies for urban systems, energy infrastructure, water security, and agriculture, showcasing integrated assessment tools and predictive systems designed to support early warning and long-term planning. The forum concluded with a strategic dialogue outlining priorities for Phase II, including expanded R&D efforts, enhanced stakeholder engagement, and innovation pathways to further develop national climate capabilities. The event reinforced a shared commitment to advancing science-based solutions that support sustainable development and resilience across Saudi Arabia and the broader region.
