Research Interests

Abdelaziz's research focuses on extreme precipitation and its associated hydrological hazards, particularly flash-flood risk in arid and data-scarce catchments, within the context of regional climate variability. Using regional climate models and hydrodynamic models, he investigates the spatial distribution of these hazards, examines how extreme precipitation responds to global warming, and assesses how changes in precipitation translate into downstream flood risk. He also applies uncertainty quantification techniques to characterize extreme scenarios and improve the reliability of hydrodynamic inundation simulations and regional climate projections.
