Biography

Siva has implemented various data assimilation schemes (3DVar, LETKF, EAKF) for different physical models (MOM, ROMS, MITgcm) and coupled physical-biogeochemical ocean models (MITgcm-NBLING), assimilating in-situ temperature and salinity observations from Argo, moored buoys, XBTs, CTDs, and satellite-based observations of sea surface height, sea surface temperature, and surface chlorophyll. He is also involved in the implementation of ensemble data assimilation schemes in high-resolution coupled ocean-atmospheric models. He serves as an active reviewer for various well-referred international journals and is a co-chair of the UN OceanDCC-Africa.

Research Interests

Siva's research interests include ocean modeling and data assimilation, as well as the preparation of ocean reanalyses. He is interested in ocean general circulation and biogeochemistry, satellite remote sensing, and in-situ ocean observations. Furthermore, he is interested in understanding ocean dynamics and air-sea interactions, and in assessing global and regional climates.
