The proposed work will be conducted by performing the following tasks:
- Assemble a database of historical tidal elevation measurements in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
- Implement high-resolution tidal models for the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.
- Validate the tidal models with available observations and global reanalysis model (OTIS).
- Provide tidal constituents based on observed tides at selected locations.
- Develop online tidal elevation prediction system including tide tables in Aramco prescribed format.
- Tune and validate the final system.
- Conduct a periodic inspection and maintenance of the system.
- Train Aramco personnel on utilizing the system and analyzing its outputs.
The system will be developed in three stages:
(i) implement the high-resolution numerical tidal model in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf,
(ii) validate the model predictions against tidal elevation measurements provided by Aramco, and
(iii) prediction of the tidal elevation and tidal tables through an online interface
