The main driver for currents in the area is expected to be ocean currents due to the large water depth. These currents are not resolved through tides and local wind alone, a 3D model of the entire Red Sea is needed. A local model driven by only tides and wind is expected to be overly conservative. Using boundary conditions which include the ocean currents of the Red Sea is therefore highly recommended.

The objective of this scope is to develop a high-resolution tidal elevation system that automatically predicts tidal sea surface elevation based on observations and a numerical tidal model.
